Nicole Pinko is a Senior Manager at Climate Policy Initiative, based in Washington D.C., where she leads the FiCS Financial Innovation Lab and oversees work on international financial architecture reform. Nicole also collaborates with CPI’s other innovative finance programs, strategic initiatives, publications, and thought leadership.

The FiCS Financial Innovation Lab is a platform to strengthen domestic financial institutions in emerging markets and developing economies, focusing on collaboration and innovation for national and sub-national public financial institutions. Our international financial architecture work examines how actors interact and cooperate across the system, and creates tools and methods to help overcome barriers to effective climate finance.

Nicole has developed several workstreams and analysis at CPI, including the first effort to track climate commitments from public development banks and the framework for sustainable finance integrity, and has contributed to work on green banks, the vertical climate and environment funds, private sector climate commitments, and urban climate finance.

Nicole holds an M.A. in International Political Economy from the University of York, and a B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of California, Davis.
