Manish Kumar is a Senior Analyst at Climate Policy Initiative, based in Delhi, India. At CPI, he focuses on the pathways and policies for a low-carbon transition in the energy sector. With over 6 years of experience in power sector research and consulting, Manish has expertise in power distribution, renewable energy and technical feasibility studies.

Prior to joining CPI, Manish worked as a Senior Consultant at Ernst & Young (EY) in its Power and Utilities practice various assignments, including an ADB-funded study on utility reforms, and World Bank-funded projects for the development of the solar industry. In his last assignment, he worked on building a skilling ecosystem for training a workforce ready to enable a Just Energy Transition in India. Manish has also worked with The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) where he was working on the pilot of the direct benefit transfer scheme for agricultural electricity consumers.

Manish holds a Bachelor of Technology and Master of Technology from CUJ, Ranchi, with a focus in Energy. He also has certifications in Climate Risk and Sustainable Finance from the Indian Institute of Banking and Finance and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
