John Michael LaSalle is an Analyst at CPI’s Washington DC office. His work focuses on financing climate action in cities and his expertise lies in sustainable cities, low-carbon transport, and climate resilience. While working on the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance secretariat, he developed the Project Preparation Resources Directory and the Project Preparation Glossary. He also assisted in the development of the Subnational Climate Finance Initiative (SCF) at the Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance.

Prior to CPI, John Michael worked at the World Bank as an Urban Development Consultant, developing urban development and flood exposure analytics for Sub-Saharan Africa, and as a Research Assistant at the University of Pennsylvania, researching climate resilient infrastructure. He also has extensive experience in transportation electrification and developing remote sensing data analytics for renewable energy.  

He holds a Master’s degree in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies from Calvin University as part of a pre-architecture program.
