Saat dunia merespons ketahanan pangan dan perubahan iklim, Brasil memiliki posisi kekuatan yang unik. Berkat kemajuan teknologi dalam praktik pertanian dan keberhasilan baru-baru ini dalam mengendalikan deforestasi, penggunaan lahan beralih ke praktik yang lebih berkelanjutan. Meningkatkan kebutuhan produksi pertanian sembari mempromosikan regularisasi lingkungan dan konservasi sumber daya alamnya adalah agenda yang menantang yang membawa peluang besar bagi negara dan sektor-sektor produktif.
Inisiatif Penggunaan Lahan (INPUT – Iniciativa para oso da Terra) menyatukan Agroicone dengan Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) di Brasil. Inisiatif ini mengandalkan tim khusus yang terdiri dari ahli ekonomi, pengacara, ahli matematika, ahli geografi dan ahli agronomi terkemuka yang bekerja di garis depan bagaimana meningkatkan perlindungan lingkungan dan produksi pangan.
INPUT melibatkan para pemangku kepentingan di sektor publik dan swasta Brazil dan memetakan tantangan untuk pengelolaan sumber daya alamnya yang lebih baik. Juga, ia memobilisasi agen rantai produktif untuk mempromosikan kepatuhan terhadap Kode Hutan yang baru. Selain itu, proyek ini bertujuan menganalisis dan memengaruhi penciptaan kebijakan ekonomi rendah karbon generasi berikutnya di Brazil.
