Agriculture and Food Systems

Secure, resilient agriculture and food systems are central to achieving climate, nature, development, and national security goals, yet the policy and finance required to support a resilient and sustainable transition falls severely short of the need.

CPI works with governments, financial institutions, investors, and development partners to close the finance and policy gap required for low-carbon, climate-resilient, and nature-positive agriculture and food systems. Our extensive work in Brazil—one of the world’s most important agricultural economies—combines rigorous analysis and policy design, and financial innovation to address challenges ranging from sustainable land use and rural credit to climate adaptation and producer resilience. Through our leadership of the ClimateShot Investor Coalition (CLIC), a global network advancing investment in sustainable agrifood systems, we help identify financing gaps, develop investment opportunities, and mobilize capital at scale.

By connecting finance, policy, and implementation, CPI helps clients build stronger food systems that deliver economic, environmental, and social outcomes.
