The Guidebook and Repository on Urban Nature-based Solutions (NbS), prepared by the India Forum for NbS, supports stakeholders in accessing finance and scaling NbS across Indian cities. It provides a practical three-step framework to assess enabling policy environments, understand the urban NbS finance and business ecosystem, and strengthen project models to unlock investment. The resource is designed for public sector stakeholders, private finance actors, philanthropic foundations, CSR units, NGOs, and practitioners engaged in financing or implementing NbS.
Structured across four sections, the guidebook offers an overview of urban NbS and their alignment with sustainability goals, a detailed three-step guidance framework, a repository of nine global and domestic best practices, and stakeholder insights on policy, finance, and implementation. Together, these elements provide actionable direction to enhance project design and mobilize capital for nature-positive urban development in India.
