João Mourão is an Analyst at CPI/PUC-Rio, with a focus on Conservation. He uses econometric techniques, georeferenced information, and administrative data to study policies aimed at preserving the environment and protecting the Amazon Forest. He is currently a professor in the Department of Economics at PUC-Rio and coordinator of the course Amazônia 2030: Bases for Sustainable Development, created in partnership with the Amazônia 2030 project. 

He holds a bachelor and a masters degree in economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio), where he also obtained a minor in policy management and evaluation. 

Prior to joining CPI/PUC-Rio, João worked at a consulting firm specialized in public infrastructure policies.
