Jakarta office moves to new location

JAKARTA, Feb 1, 2015—Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) welcomes a new Indonesia Director, Dr. Suzanty Sitorus, who joins the organization with nearly two decades of experience in climate finance, land use, and natural resources management.

Dr. Sitorus most recently served as a member of the UNFCCC Standing Committee on Finance. She continues her role as the Chair of the Executive Board of the Indonesia Biodiversity Foundation (KEHATI), and she is the founder and Secretary of the Executive Board of the Association of Philanthropy Indonesia (PFI). From 2009 to 2015, she worked in the National Council on Climate Change, a government body coordinating climate change policy and strategy, and served as Indonesia’s lead negotiator on climate finance in the UNFCCC processes.

“Dr. Sitorus brings the experience and dedication necessary to continue making an impact on one of the most important issues and regions of the world,” said Jane Wilkinson, Director at Climate Policy Initiative, who founded the Indonesia program in 2012, and who will continue to play a key role in the program’s work. “We are thrilled for her to join the experienced team we have built in Indonesia.”

Dr. Sitorus will begin February 4th from CPI’s office in Jakarta, which moved to a new location last week: Menara Bank Danamon, 11th floor, Jl. Prof. Dr. Satrio, Jakarta 12940

Climate Policy Initiative is a team of analysts and advisors that works to improve the most important energy and land use policies around the world, with a particular focus on finance. In Indonesia, CPI partners with the Ministry of Finance, regional governments, the Palangkaraya Institute for Land-use and Agricultural Research at the University of Palangkaraya, and other government, business, and civil society organizations.
