Loreta Guerra is an Analyst at CPI/PUC-Rio. Her work focuses on quantitative analysis of public policies related to deforestation and their broader economic and social implications across sectors such as energy, agriculture, and infrastructure.
She is currently completing a master’s degree in Economics at the São Paulo School of Economics – FGV, where she also obtained her bachelor’s degree in Economics. Her master’s research uses administrative data to examine how bureaucratic turnover affects the fiscal functioning of local public administrations.
Loreta has previous experience in applied economic research and data analysis across different policy areas. She worked as an intern at the Research Department of the Central Bank of Brazil on projects related to banking microeconomics and credit. She also worked as a research assistant on a project ran by IMPA studying the effects of the Brazilian Math Olympiad (OBMEP) on students’ and peers’ educational outcomes, and has contributed to consulting projects involving large-scale data analysis and policy-oriented research.
