Brazilian Ministry of Environment will host a bilateral conference on forests, climate and biodiversity on Wednesday, August 19, 2015.  The event aims to create a dialogue between Brazil and Germany to help strength cooperation on issues related to conservation and sustainable use of forests and biodiversity, as well as how to better deal with the challenges associated to climate change.

Juliano Assunção, Director of CPI’s Brazil program, has been invited by Brazil’s Minister of Environment, Izabella Teixeira, to serve on a panel dedicated to climate change and policies to combat deforestation.

Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) works to improve the most important energy and land use policies around the world, with a particular focus on finance. We support decision makers through in-depth analysis on what works and what does not. CPI works in places that provide the most potential for policy impact including Brazil, China, Europe, India, Indonesia, and the United States. In Brazil, CPI partners with the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro.
