Payal Negi is a sustainability and climate finance professional with nearly a decade of experience in climate change research, ESG analysis, and sustainable finance. She has joined the Center for Sustainable Finance (CSF) at Climate Policy Initiative as Manager, where she contributes to advancing data-driven insights and policy solutions to accelerate green investments.
Before joining CPI, Payal worked with HSBC Global Research, leading cross-sectoral research on carbon markets, transition risks, and climate & ESG policy developments. Her analytical work has supported investor decision-making and thought leadership on sustainable finance and adaptation resilience. Earlier in her career, she contributed to climate vulnerability assessments at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.
Payal holds an M.Sc. in Climate Science and Policy from the TERI School of Advanced Studies and a B.Sc. in Botany from Miranda House, University of Delhi. She is passionate about bridging finance, data, and climate action to drive equitable low-carbon transitions.
