One challenge is that urban water markets are often complex: households may rely on a mix of utility connections, vendors, tankers, boreholes, packaged water and self-supply, with costs, risks and payments spread across many different actors.

From Projects to Markets explores how clearer, more consistent market intelligence can support better project preparation and investment decisions. The webinar will dive into details of the recently-released report of the same title, produced by The Resilient Water Accelerator and Athena Infornomics, and with input from Climate Policy Initiative. The report sets out a practical framework for understanding who supplies water, how households pay, where service gaps sit, and what this means for identifying opportunities that are more realistic, inclusive and financeable.

The webinar will introduce the report’s core argument and open a wider discussion on what evidence is needed to move from water ambition to investable opportunities.  The webinar will be practical and informal, focused on what better market intelligence can do for project preparation, pipeline development and investment decision-making in urban water.
