Chenny Wongkar is an Analyst at CPI based in Jakarta. With extensive experience in environmental regulation and climate law, she has advised on projects aimed at unlocking financing for the wastewater sector in Indonesia. She is playing a central role in and reviewing numerous environmental and natural resource regulations and policies in the country.

Before joining CPI, Chenny worked at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, where she contributed to the development of environmental regulations. She also led the Environmental Governance and Climate Justice Division at the Indonesian Center for Environmental Law. She has served as a consultant for various international organizations, including Conservation International, USAID, and the OECD accession process, providing legal and policy expertise on climate governance, blue carbon, civic space, and environmental justice.

Chenny holds a Master of Environmental Law from the University of Melbourne. She is a member of the IUCN World Commission on Environmental Law and an alumna of several international fellowships, including the Sakharov Fellowship Program of the European Parliament and the Climate Change Adaptation & Mitigation Professional Fellowship from Australia Awards.
