CPI is an analysis and advisory organization with deep expertise in finance and policy. Our mission is to help governments, businesses, and financial institutions drive economic growth while addressing climate change. CPI has seven offices around the world in Brazil, India, Indonesia, South Africa, the United Kingdom, and the United States (San Francisco and Washington DC).

CPI is a leader in tracking sustainable investment trends, identifying innovative business models, and supporting the solutions that can drive a transition to a low-carbon, climate-resilient economy. We are unique in our focus on finance, our ability to get the right people to the table, and our analytical rigor.

ABOUT THE LAB

The Lab is a public-private partnership developed in 2014 and was born out of the need to drive more private investment to tackle the climate challenge. The Lab is an incubator program that identifies, develops, stress tests, and helps launch innovative financial mechanisms that attract private capital into sectors key to a sustainable economy in developing countries.

In over ten years, the Lab has launched 78 instruments, which have collectively mobilized over USD $4.2 billion in climate action and has proven to be a successful model. It works because it is unique in bringing a diverse group of stakeholders into the table to help develop these ideas. The Lab has grown into a member-supported organization of more than 100 institutions including governments, development finance institutions, philanthropies, project developers, and private sector experts, and has been endorsed by the governments of the G7, Brazil, and India.

The Lab is a global program with a Hub-and-Spoke regional model, focused on building powerful local networks and enhancing local capacity development, while maintaining strong connections to international donors, DFIs, and private financiers. The Lab includes the following regional programs: Brazil, India, Latin America and the Caribbean, Philippines, and Sub-Saharan Africa.
