Gustavo Ribeiro Soares Pinto is a Senior Analyst at CPI/PUC-Rio, working on sustainability projects, and lecturer at the Department of Economics at PUC-Rio. He leads research on the impact of public policy on land use, with focus on agriculture, infrastructure, and on the relationship between energy and deforestation. 

He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from PUC-Rio, with an emphasis on Economic Development and Applied Microeconomics, a master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ, with focus on thermosciences, and a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from PUC-Rio. 

Prior to joining CPI/PUC-Rio, Gustavo worked on the coordination and implementation of consulting and research and development projects for the energy sector. In particular, he worked on projects on the technical and economic feasibility of thermal systems, as well as on their simulation and artificial intelligence-based computer-aided diagnostics.
