Position Summary
We are seeking a digital communications Junior Associate/ Associate who will handle the digital outputs of our busy India team and its programs. You will leverage our highly respected analytical content to build and engage followers on social media and will also be responsible for managing website content across our program websites, ensuring content is clear, concise, engaging, and optimized for search engines. The position will also support our stakeholder events, which is critical work at CPI that helps us create impact and achieve our mission.
The ideal junior associate will have a passion for environmental and sustainability issues and the ability to translate economics and financial language into accessible insights that influence decision makers at the highest levels of business, finance, government, and academia.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
On a weekly basis, the communications junior associate/ associate will be required to:
1. Social Media
- Promote CPI’s work, including events, publications, articles, blogs, podcasts, media mentions, and across social media platforms
- Support development of creative for posts and campaigns, including developing copy, handling image selection, producing graphics, and creating short social videos, stories, and other relevant social media content
- Conduct hashtag research with an understanding of CPI’s audience to utilize the most relevant hashtags that generate additional visibility for CPI’s work
- Support in managing CPI India office Director’s social media (as required) to improve digital presence across social media, building followers and engagement
- Maintain the overall CPI editorial calendar to keep track of upcoming events/publications/ campaigns
- Communicate internally with relevant people/offices/programs to encourage re-posts/re-shares
- Coordinate with the CPI global communications team to cross-post content between CPI India and CPI Global social media handles
- Work with CPI India office personnel to identify key stakeholders/influencers to follow/reshare
- Add videos of events/webinars and interviews on YouTube
2. Events
- Support planning, execution, and coordination for events in India
- Coordinate with external vendors/ parties to procure venues/collateral for events, coordinate AV requirements, food menu, backdrop, and any other event requirements
- Coordinate procurement of event-related supplies
- Provide on-ground support during the event
- Identify, pursue, and support events and speaking opportunities, including preparing and submitting proposals, and supporting analyst preparation
- Build relationships with key stakeholders through events and strategic outreach
- Coordinate between vendors and internal teams to keep track of the invoice status and processing
- Coordinate with external stakeholders for CPI annual event
- Coordinate and manage backend for hybrid events
- Coordinate and manage post-event performance and updates
3. Reporting and Statistics
- Monitor and evaluate CPI India’s digital communications reach and present a quarterly analysis report with recommendations on issues to address and opportunities to build further followers, visitors, engagement, and visibility.
4. Content Support
- Draft social media publicity packs for new publications and events
- Provide content to CPI Global communications team for internal and external newsletters
5. Paid Advertising
- Deploy LinkedIn and Google ad campaigns to promote important publications/ projects
- Regularly check for updates and incorporate them in existing campaigns
- Conduct keyword research to optimize new campaigns
Qualifications & Experience
- Post Graduate degree in Mass Communications/ Public Relations/ Marketing, and demonstrable (minimum of 2 years) post-qualification experience in the field, or a Graduate degree with minimum 4 years of experience
- At least two years of experience handling digital communications and social media
- Experience developing creative content based on existing work of the organization, including copy and creatives (using Canva)
- Technical skills in social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, X, Threads) and Canva
- Editorial calendar and project management, handling inputs from a variety of internal stakeholders, ensuring all deliverables are executed on time, and internal stakeholders are kept up to date on task status
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, project management, and prioritization skills, with an ability to work independently and on tight deadlines. Specific experience with event management is desirable
- Superior fluency in English required with impeccable grammar; prior experience handling complex finance, environment, and/or policy content highly desirable
Location and Compensation
CPI is hiring for one permanent, full-time junior associate/ associate position based in Delhi/NCR.
CPI offers a competitive compensation and benefits package. Compensation will be dependent on experience.
