In a rapidly evolving climate finance landscape, decision-makers need a clear picture of where finance is flowing, where gaps remain, and how capital can be directed to deliver the greatest impact.
For over a decade, CPI’s Climate Finance Tracking Program has been, and continues to be, one of the most trusted and widely referenced sources of climate finance data worldwide. Offering a comprehensive view of the climate finance system, our work is central to equipping policymakers, investors, and financial institutions with the evidence needed to improve decision-making and act.
Over the past year, the program expanded its depth and reach, delivering global analyses, regional deep dives, sector-specific tracking, and key methodological advances. Our insights informed high-level dialogues, from UNFCCC and G20 discussions to national green taxonomy development, helping shape policy, guide investment, and strengthen the foundations of global climate finance action.
As we look ahead, CPI is scaling its ambition to meet global needs. We are deepening our analysis of climate finance flows and gaps, enhancing assessments of finance quality and effectiveness, and expanding work on emerging priorities such as super pollutants, nature, and just transitions. By moving from data to direction, CPI will continue to connect rigorous insights with real-world priorities to help close climate finance gaps and accelerate progress toward net zero and climate resilience.
