London, 22 September 2026 – The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (the Lab) today launched its 2027 Call for Ideas, inviting innovators to submit financial solutions that can mobilize private investment for climate solutions across emerging markets. The announcement follows a milestone year in which the Lab’s portfolio surpassed USD 5 billion in capital mobilized.
For this cycle, the Lab accepts applications that target regional and country programs designed to address the unique financial and climate challenges in the following geographies:
- Africa – Mitigation
- Asia-Pacific – Mitigation
- Brazil – Mitigation / Adaptation co-benefits
- India – Mitigation and/or adaptation
- Latin America and the Caribbean – Mitigation / Adaptation co-benefits
“The Lab portfolio reached an exciting milestone this year, surpassing USD 5 billion in capital mobilized for climate solutions across emerging markets,” said Amanda Brasil, Global Lab Manager. “Building on this momentum, we look forward to adding new ideas to our portfolio and advancing our mission to help mobilize investment for high-impact climate action.”
Application Process
The application process begins with a preliminary application due by 11:59 PM PST on October 18, 2026. Applicants whose ideas align best with the program’s offerings will be invited in mid-November to submit a full application.
Selected ideas will receive a comprehensive support package that includes expert guidance, technical assistance, funder mapping, networking opportunities, and pilot implementation support.
