Climate Finance Tracking Sectors
Evidence-based insights in high impact sectors
Our sectoral and thematic areas of analysis dives deeper into the scale of climate finance flows and needs within high impact sectors like energy, agrifood systems, or urban infrastructure, and themes such as super pollutants, or nature-based solutions to help identify unique barriers, opportunities and roadmaps for climate investment. By doing so, we enable targeted investments, improve impact measurement, and support evidence-based policymaking that address sector specific issues.
Our sectors

Adaptation
Strengthening resilience to climate change is essential for safeguarding livelihoods and ecosystems. At Climate Policy Initiative we track finance to adaptation and resilience to support and guide finance and policy to scale up effective adaptation solutions.

Agrifood
Food Systems are critical pillars of effective mitigation and resilience. We provide baseline on finance flows against needs to inform investments and policies that drive sustainable, low-carbon, and climate-resilient agriculture.

Energy
Decarbonising energy systems is central to limiting global warming. We track finance flows and policy shifts which enable a just and sustainable energy transition.

Green Infrastructure
Low emissions and resilient infrastructure underpins sustainable development. We track investments that build climate-smart cities, sustainable transport systems, and other essential services.

Nature-based Solutions
Healthy ecosystems are our most potent allies against climate change. Our work advances finance and policies for conservation, restoration, and sustainable land use.

Super pollutants
Short-lived climate pollutants are the most potent drivers of near-term global warming. We advance investments and policies to abate the negative impacts of Super Pollutants to negate their near-term impact.
