Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) is pleased to announce that its Global Managing Director, Dr. Barbara Buchner, has been appointed to the High-Level Consulting Group of the Energy Transition Accelerator (ETA), a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State, The Rockefeller Foundation, and the Bezos Earth Fund, that was initially announced in November 2022 at COP27. Other members of the 22-person High-Level Consulting Group represent diverse climate finance and policy expertise across the public, private, civil society, and academic sectors.

The goal of the ETA is to catalyze private capital investment that will accelerate the transition to clean power in developing economies, while also helping countries achieve and strengthen their nationally determined contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement. A sought-after advisor on international policy to optimize sustainable economies, Dr. Buchner serves on several additional advisory boards including of the U.S. Export-Import Bank (EXIM), the Independent High-Level Expert Group on Climate Finance, the UNEP Adaptation Gap Report, and President Macron’s One Planet Lab.
