Michelle Lee is a Senior Analyst at CPI, based in Washington, D.C. She has a wide range of experience in climate finance advisory across CPI’s portfolio, working with governments, fund managers, and corporations to develop climate finance strategies and design climate finance vehicles that are fit for purpose. While at CPI, Michelle has advised the governments of Madagascar and Maryland on climate finance. She’s also incubated a wide range of climate finance vehicles, focused on working with fund mangers investing globally in nature and agri-food systems.
Her areas of expertise include SME finance, fund design and implementation, climate finance strategy development, adaptation and resilience, agriculture, Small Island Developing States, and Africa. She also speaks French.
Prior to joining CPI, Michelle consulted for various non-profit and multilateral organizations in areas such as climate finance negotiations, climate finance access, PPPs for weather services, disaster risk financing, and domestic climate funds. She holds an MA from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies and a BA from Connecticut College.
