{"id":360,"date":"2011-03-14T00:47:41","date_gmt":"2011-03-14T07:47:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/climatepolicyinitiative.org\/?post_type=cpi_publications&#038;p=360"},"modified":"2026-04-13T09:10:17","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T09:10:17","slug":"pv-industry-and-policy-in-germany-and-china","status":"publish","type":"cpi_publications","link":"https:\/\/www.climatepolicyinitiative.org\/pt-br\/publication\/pv-industry-and-policy-in-germany-and-china\/","title":{"rendered":"PV Industry and Policy in Germany and China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As building-integrated photovoltaic (PV) solutions can meet around one-third of electricity demand in Germany and China, both countries are interested in exploring this potential. &nbsp;Large-scale global application of PV, however, requires further technology improvements and cost reductions along the value chain.<\/p>\n<p>In this paper, we provide an overview of the PV industry and policies in Germany and China, including deployment support, investment support for manufacturing plants, and R&amp;D support measures. &nbsp;We find that<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>deployment support in both nations has been successful but that adjustment mechanisms may be necessary given that prices can change quickly,<\/li>\n<li>investment support in these nations has not been sufficiently tied to innovation incentives, and<\/li>\n<li>R&amp;D support has been weak.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This paper concludes with a discussion of the need for global policy coordination that reaches beyond increasingly national\/local interests.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In this paper, CPI provides an overview of the PV industry and policies in Germany and China, including deployment support, investment support for manufacturing plants, and R&amp;D support measures.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":33,"featured_media":0,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"programs":[480],"regions":[40,118],"topics":[264,304],"collaborations":[],"class_list":["post-360","cpi_publications","type-cpi_publications","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","programs-energy-finance","regions-china","regions-europe","topics-renewable-energy","topics-solar-pv"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 -
