Pedro de Arag\u00e3o Fernandes is a Senior Analyst based in CPI\u2019s London office. His expertise spans climate finance tracking, econometric modelling, and policy impact analysis.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his role, he supports three key programs:\u202fClimate Finance Tracking<\/a>,\u202fThe Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance<\/a>\u202fand\u202fCities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA)<\/a>.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within the tracking program, he leads the data methodology coordination, development and updates of CPI\u2019s flagship report: The Global Landscape of Climate Finance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the lead of the super pollutants tracking stream<\/a>, including the Landscape of Methane Abatement Finance<\/a>, and has been the data methodology lead for several of national and regional tracking projects, including the\u202fLandscape of Climate Finance in Africa<\/a>, the\u202fSouth African Landscape of Climate Finance<\/a> and the Landscape of Climate Finance in Brazil<\/a>.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He is the technical lead for\u202fCCFLA<\/a>\u2019s urban climate finance tracking workstream, overseeing the inception and development of urban climate finance calculations methodology, as well as the management of project-level databases for the\u202fState of Cities Climate Finance<\/a>.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n

He has provided analytical support to the\u202fGlobal Innovation Lab for Climate Finance<\/a>\u2019s program in Brazil for three years (2022-24), helping public and private investors develop innovative blended finance investment solutions to mobilize funds for the country\u2019s national climate goals. His most recent project was the\u202fAmazon Food&Forest Bioeconomy Financing Initiative<\/a>, which aims to identify, assist, de-risk, and finance local regenerative businesses within the Amazon forest\u2019s socio-bioeconomy.\u202f\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the past, Pedro has worked with CPI\u2019s\u202fBrazil Policy Center<\/a>, conducting research on the local impacts of large investments and rural credit on land use, productivity, and the environment. Prior to CPI, he was an Economist at Econometric Traces, applying econometric modelling and machine learning techniques to companies\u2019 private data and developing inferential models for companies\u2019 products.\u202f <\/p>\n\n\n\n
