No entanto, menos de um quarto do investimento necessário para o acesso universal à energia está ocorrendo. Embora existam tecnologias e modelos de negócios comprovados acessíveis e confiáveis que podem aumentar o acesso à energia limpa, o financiamento desses projetos e empresas continua sendo um desafio persistente.
A série Energizing Finance, desenvolvida pela Sustainable Energy for All em parceria com a CPI, captura financiamento para as duas principais áreas de acesso à energia: eletrificação e cozimento limpo. O relatório anual concentra-se em compromissos financeiros públicos e privados em 20 países em desenvolvimento que, juntos, abrigam quase 80% dos que vivem sem acesso à energia sustentável e moderna.
