Alex Clark is a part-time Consultant to Climate Policy Initiative, supporting the Climate Finance team’s tracking work. Alex is a PhD student in Geography and the Environment at Oxford University and Interim Director of the Asset-Level Data Initiative at Oxford’s Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment.
From 2017-2019, Alex was an Analyst at Climate Policy Initiative’s office in San Francisco, contributing to several CPI publications including Blended Finance in Clean Energy, the 2018 update to the Global Landscape of Climate Finance, and Implementing Alignment with the Paris Agreement. He also supported PAYS for Clean Transport in the 2018 Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance.
He is Senior Advisor (Youth Financing) at SDSN Youth, previously Project Leader for Networks, then Operations. He has been with SDSN Youth since its establishment in 2015. Alex is a former Henry Fellow at Harvard University and holds an MSc (Global Governance and Diplomacy) from Oxford University, and a BA (Hons) in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Warwick University. Alex represented Young European Leaders at COP21/COP22. He also supports Prof. Tom Hale at Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government to coordinate the Galvanizing the Groundswell of Climate Actions initiative.
