Richard Heap is a Senior Program Associate for Climate Policy Initiative, focusing on Climate Finance, Climate Adaptation & Resilience and program strategy and delivery. Richard is responsible for the overall project management and coordination of CPI’s role as the Secretariat for the ClimateShot Investor Coalition (CLIC), an action-oriented initiative launched by UK FCDO at COP26 to accelerate and scale up investments in agriculture and food systems with a focus on climate and nature benefits.
Richard joined CPI from DAI, where he co-managed a 60-member consortium for DAI in its capacity as the Secretariat for the UK FCDO Strengthening Resilience and Response to Crises Framework, previously served as the Senior Project Manager for the UK FCDO Nepal Renewable Energy Programme, and led the set-up and delivery of The Global Center on Adaptation’s Local Adaptation Champions Awards 2022.
He holds a Master’s degree in Disasters, Adaptation and Development from King’s College London and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of East Anglia.
